项目摘要

日本の戦後からの発展において,高品質な製品・サービスの提供をねらいとする品質管理活動が大きな寄与をしてきた.経営を行う立場から最も関心があるのは,品質管理活動の経営的な側面での効果であるものの,この側面からの評価法についての研究はほとんどなく,自社における品質管理活動の推進が経営的視点から見て効率的かどうかが正確に評価できない現状にある.このような背景から,科学研究費補助金を申請しこの研究補助を頂いた.この研究成果はいくつかの国際会議で発表済みであり,また現在進行中の質問紙調査の結果を踏まえ,研究期間終了直後にも発表を予定している.研究成果,発表予定の論文については,「11.研究発表」の欄を参照されたい.これらの一連の研究では,品質管理活動に関する効果を,各種の経営指標を用いて次の手順により把握すれば良い事を示している.(1)品質管理活動に関するモデルを設定する.(2)(1)のモデルに基づいて,損益計算書など公開されている経営指標データを、グラフィカルモデリング,共分散構造分析,時系列解析等の手法で解析する.(3)(1)のモデルに基づいて質問紙調査を実施し人件費などを推定する.(4)(2)によるデータ解析の結果と(3)による質問紙調査の結果の整合を考えつつ、経営指標から見た品質管理活動の効果を推定する.これらの一連の手順について,いくつかの実証的研究を行っている.そこでは,(1):品質管理活動の対象として,近年注目を浴びつつある品質保証の国際規格:ISO9000の認証取得を取り上げている.また,対象業種として,鉄鋼,電気,機械を取り上げている.そして,この品質管理活動の費用は,人件費などを含めると売上高に対しておおむね1〜2%弱である事を示すなど,経営的側面から見た品質管理活動の評価結果を示している.
