プリンストン大学志村五郎教授による本質的結果の1つである“The special Jalues of Zeta Functions arsociated with Hilbert modular forms,Duke Math,J.45(1978)に従って,1.2つのHilbert modular formsに対して定まるL-serierの特殊値を具体的に求める,2.この値に関してHilbert modular formsのFourier係数によって有理数体上に生成される有限次代数拡大体いわゆるHecke体の判別式及びこの判別式が与えるmodular formsの間の合同式の関係についての神秘的事実を発表すること.この1,2を,論文として“Hilbert modular L-values and discriminant of Hecke′s fields"Mem.Inst.Sci.& Eng.,Ritsumeikan Univ.,53(1994),1〜12.に発表した.これは研究分担者の1人である石井秀則氏との共著である.本研究においては,2.にのべた合同式に力点をおいたため、上のL-valuesの分母について特に注目したが、将来の問題として当然その分子の持つ数論性が追求されなければならない,これは非常に重要な点であろう.さらに,上述のHecke体の判別式は,実は1変数のHauptおよびNeben型尖点形式に付随するsymmetric sguare L-seriesの問題としている尖点形式の重さにおける値と関連するという,カリフオルニア大学肥田晴三教授の発見があり,上の論文とは別に,近い将来これらを総合して論文として発表する予定がある。
