本年度は以下の2つの研究に注力を注いだ. 第1は, 昨年度8月・3月に行ったききとり調査のとりまとめである. 戦前期日本において, 人々の生活世界の中にいつどのようにして学歴が価値あるものとして浸入し, 人々は学歴をぬきに人生を考えられなくなっていくのかという観点から, 旧土族・農家・商家の別にききとりをまとめ社会集国間の差異を比較しながら, 近代日本における学歴の定着, 汎化過程を明らかにしようとした. その結果については, 第39回日本教育社会学会大会において, 「地域における学歴意識の変容ー戦前期日本における生活世界の学校代」と題して発表,現在,それをもとにして論文執筆中. 第2は, 現在行なっている戦後についての調査である. これは, 調査対象地として選定した兵庫県篠山町における2つの新制高等学校を中心にし, その組織構造, 学校文化,生徒文化等の変容を戦後の学制改革前後から現在までについて比較しつつ, 戦後の学歴主義がどのようにして形成されてきたのかを明らかにすることを目的とするものである. 方法としては文献資料と学校関係者へのききとりとを併用する.また, この他に前年度まで行ってきた, 当該地域の旧制中学を対象とした研究を論文としてまとめ, 東京大学教育学部紀要第27巻に「近代日本における学歴主義の制度化過程の研究ー兵庫県鳳鳴義塾の事例ー」として発表. ここでは, 明治初期から大正中期までの対象中学の学校組織・学校文化・学生生活・学校の社会的機能の4側面を分析することで, 近代日本において学歴主義がどのような形で定着していったのかを明らかにすることを目的としている. 現在行っている戦後についての調査は, この続編にあたるものである. さらに, 社会集団の問題として士族,中等教育の問題として高等女学校についても研究に着手している状況である.
