In order to evaluate and establish the evidence concerned to the morphological characteristics around the mouth in Japanese, the basic methodology was discussed among the investigators. According to the basic standard, a questionnaire, intraoral and occlusal examinations and standardized facial photographs of general people, students, doctors, staffs and patients were taken in ten universities as the basic materials, respectively (Total number of data were around four thousands). Many defined lengths angles and its proportions on the facial photographs were measured using the customized cephalometric computer software. The measured data were analyzed statistically and basic statistic data base using a large group sample in Japanese were established. The relation among the results of the basic examination, the intraoral and occlusal examinations and the measurements concerned about the standardized facial photographs were investigated and evaluated.As a results of these investigations, reliable data base of morphological standards in Japanese were established. The basic statistical data about the morphological characteristics around the mouth clearly revealed the characteristics in Japanese (For example: concave or straight profile type as a skeletal class III tendency or protrusion around the mouth as bialveolar protrusions). The difference between the data of the general group and the dental concerned group was not existed except the experiences about orthodontic treatment.
为了评价和建立有关日本人口腔周围形态特征的证据,研究者们讨论了基本的研究方法。根据基本标准,分别以10所高校的普通民众、学生、医生、工作人员和患者的问卷调查、口内咬合检查和标准化的面部照片为基础资料(数据总数约4000张)。使用定制的头颅测量计算机软件测量面部照片上许多定义的长度、角度及其比例。对实测数据进行统计分析,建立了日本大群体样本基础统计数据库。对基础检查、口内检查和咬合检查结果与标准化面部照片测量结果的关系进行了调查和评价。通过这些调查,建立了可靠的日语词法标准数据库。口腔周围形态特征的基本统计数据清楚地揭示了日本人的特征(如:凹形或直形轮廓型为骨骼III类倾向,口周突出为双牙槽突)。除正畸治疗经验外,普通组与口腔关注组数据无差异。
