病原性のないウイルスの外殻を作っているたんぱく質に由来する分子を自己組織化させて"ナノカプセル" を合成する反応中にその内部にフェライト粒子を内包させた。このナノカプセル・フェライトビーズは、がん細胞の表面に特異的に吸着あるいは内部に取り込まれる性質があることが示唆されたので、これによって抗がんハイパーサーミア用の発熱体およびMR 造影剤としての効率を高めることができると期待される。
