项目摘要

東日本地域から、地理的、方言学的見地からバランスを考え、各地の代表と思われる9箇所(北海道名寄市、青森県五所川原市、宮城県気仙沼市、山形県三川町、新潟県十日町市、群馬県前橋市、静岡県静岡市、同県浜松市、愛知県名古屋市)において、少数の最適任話者を選び、全国共通項および土地独自項を収録し、アクセント、イントネーションを中心とする韻律の記述研究を行った。また、新潟市においては、高年、中年、若年、学校生徒男女計100名について、独自項目の収録、調査を行い、住民の韻律の実態と動向を調査した。これらの結果、次のような知見が得られた。1.従来の方言アクセント・イントネーションの記述を、より高性能の収録技術および分析によって、客観的に確認し、若干の修正をも行うことができた。2.語アクセントの研究を、用語の終止形だけでなく、各活用形に至るまで、また種々の付属語、補助動詞のついた形を各地において記述した。3.文節を越えた文アクセント、イントネーションは、従来は手つかずの状態であったが、これによって、ある程度客観的に固定することができ、各地の特色、傾向を指摘することができた。4.共通語化の激しい現在、新潟市における多人数調査によって、年齢・性別・教養等による相違、変化の方向、変化せずに残っている強い傾向、会話と朗読における場面的切り替えがかなり明瞭に確認できた。5.方言アクセント上難しく未開拓であった地域(たとえば宮城県北地方)においてアクセント記述上の新発見が得られた。なお、今後は東日本に広く分布する無型アクセント地帯においても調査方法を工夫しながら収集、研究を行うことが必要となる。
