音声対話のコンテクストにおける言葉の意味の理解についての論理的分析を進めた。特に、伝統的な論理的意味論(真理条件に立脚した指示的意味論)、可能世界意味論、言語行為論、メンタル・スペース理論に対して、音声対話の意味論として使用したときにどのような問題点を生ずるかを批判的に検討した。これらの検討の結果をふまえて、音声対話時の話し手と聞き手との間の意味の理解に対して、我々自身の論理的意味論モデルの構築を進めた。我々の意味論モデルは対話等のコンテクストに依存しない中核的(又、中立的)意味をモンターギュ意味論のフレームワークで与え、又 対話時のコンテクスト情報を手続き的意味論で与える、という二重の構造を持つ。この手続き的意味論は関連性原理を用いて定式化される。音声対話時には音声情報がコンテクスト情報の中でも特に重要である。疑問形式の対話のコンテクストを設定して、音声情報がどのように働いているかについての実験も進めている。
