项目摘要

本年度は申請にあたって目標に掲げた課題に取り組むにあたり、インド仏教における『法華経』の受容と展開に注目し、昨年度の研究成果を整理しなおして国際学会で発表を行った。『維摩経』と『法華経』の両経典には共通した構造を持つ物語（「法供養」）が見られる。『法華経』「普門品」と『維摩経』「菩薩品」の梵文写本、蔵訳、漢訳に着目し、そこに見られる「法施」の概念が両経典で異なることを指摘した。また神変表現に着目し、両経典が共通のソースを基盤としている可能性を指摘した。『法華経』第14章「安楽行品」の冒頭散文部分、ya khalv esu dharmesv avicarana avikalpanaの解釈について取り上げ、梵文諸写本、蔵訳、漢文と比較しながら検討をした。梵語写本の解釈可能性は一通りではなく、様々な解釈可能性があるが、文脈を考慮すると「avicaraとavikalapana」と解釈するのが適切であると考えられる。また中国の注釈書の解釈も二通りに分かれる。「不分別を行ぜず」と「行ぜず分別せず」という解釈である。前者は慧思の『法華経安楽行義』や天台大師の『妙法蓮華経文句』に見られる。天台大師は慧思の解釈を踏襲し、中道を中心とした理論に当てはめ、「不分別」を「無相」「中道」と置き換え、それにさえも執着しないと解する。後者は吉蔵の『法華義疏』、法雲の『法華経義記』、基の『妙法蓮華経玄賛』にみられる。吉蔵は、「分別せず」の対象として「亦行」と「不行」と分けて解釈する。基は、「行ぜず」「分別せず」に分けて解釈し、その根拠を『般若経』の「無所住に住する＝無諸行を行ずる」に求めている。「行ぜしところなし、分別せずところなし」というように、その目的語がないことを、「真際」であらわす。法雲は、両者を2つにわけ、その根拠を「空」に求め、法空を得た時、無分別であるが故に、行ぜざると解釈する。
