1988年3月に宇都宮市において、家庭訪問調査を行った。対象世帯は約200世帯であり、各世帯構成員の1週間にわたる全ての生活行動を10分単位で記録してもらった。総記録日数は約6000日分と膨大なものになった。本年度は、この記録用紙の記入のチェック、修正、コーディングをまず進めたが、生活行動の内容は極めて多岐にわたるものであり、行動パターンの類型化、記入の誤りのチェック及びコーディングに予想外の多量の時間を要した。1日24時間の全生活行動を10分単位で記録したものが6000日分であるから、確かに多量の時間を要するものであるが、それにも増して記入されている生活行動の内容の多様さ・複雑さが、多量の時間を要した原因であった。これは、今後のこの種の調査に対する大きな教訓となり、また本研究の1つの成果でもある。年度末近くになってようやくデータチェックと入力が完了し、基礎的な集計と分析に入ることができ、現在も作業中であるが、これ迄に判明した結論は以下のものである。1.宇都宮市でのパーソントリップ調査との比較では、アクティビティ調査によるものの方が1人当り発生トリップ数をより多く捉えていることが分かり、交通調査におけるアクティビティ調査の有効性が確認できた。2.発生トリップ数の曜日別変動については、月曜から金曜迄、全目的トリップ数、買物トリップ数とも大きな変動は見られない。買物トリップ数の曜日別変動に対する要因としては、性別、世帯の特性、職種が効いている。3.調査上の問題として、記入日が後になる程、記入内容が粗くなる可能性があったが、本調査では、その傾向は見られなかった。
