We collected the blood sample from both Cleft Lip and/or Palate patients and parents while we stayd at Ben Tre, Vietnam, between December 8 and 26 in 1995. The results was as follws :In the province of Ben Tre where we investigated, 252 children were identified as cleft lip and/or palate patients among 169,467 whose ages are between 0 and 5.Comparing with the tendency of incidence of Japanese, there was no disinguished differences.We have been analyzing the blood sampls of families as well as patients with Cleft Lip and/or Palate themselves genetically. At the moment, no significant differences have not been appeared comparing with any other races. There was no evidence found that the orangeade caused the frequent incidence of cleft lip and/or palate. We could not find out any characterisitic features and/or change on the gene, caused by orangeade such as dioxin.
