本研究では、偏見の「集合的基礎」に着目し、社会的表象としての偏見の解明を試みた。準備研究・方法論的吟味・実験的検討の順で研究を進めた。まず、準備研究として、個人に内在する偏見を測定した。具体的には、社会心理学で用いられている標準的な質問紙(Modern Racism Scale)を用い、在日韓国・朝鮮人に関する日本人学生およびその父兄に対し質問紙調査を行った。その結果、在日韓国・朝鮮人に対する偏見は個人レベルでは見出されなかった。次に、偏見の集合的基盤を会話分布によって明らかにするために、会話分析における方法論の検討を行った。その結果、従来の会話分析は、分析対象とする会話データの抽出・指示方法において恣意性を免れないこと、そして、分析に際しては分析者の「視点」を明示することの重要性と困難を指摘し、代替案として、会話の背景を詳述する"年代記法"を提唱し、また、"視点の移動"に関する理論的・方法論的議論を展開した。最後に、これらの成果を踏まえて、準備研究で個人レベルでは偏見の見られなかった日本人学生に在日韓国・朝鮮人に関する会話を行ってもらい、その分析を試みた。その結果、「自分はなんとも思わないけど、世間では」云々といった会話が散見された。ここで最も注目すべき結果は、在日韓国・朝鮮人に関する会話が何の障害もなく成立したことである。このことは、われわれの社会において、在日韓国・朝鮮人への偏見に関する集合的基盤が存在していることを裏付けるものである。本年度は、計画段階で企画していたドキュメント分析は十分に行えなかった。その理由は、研究代表者の所属する地域で阪神・淡路大震災が発生したために、震災時における人々の社会的表象の変容過程を、本研究で提唱した方法論的成果に基づいて検討することに専念したからである。そこで得られた成果も、本研究と密接に連動するものである。

This year's plan for the next phase of the project is planned to be completed. The reason for this is to study the occurrence of the Hanshin/Tamil earthquake in the region where the representative belongs, and the transformation process of human society during the earthquake. This study proposes the results of methodological research. The results of this study are closely linked.
