(1) Research for nature and formation of living space :First of all, we elucidate vernacular concept of mountain, field, river and sea in ancient times. Since Middle Ages, "the ten scenic spots" or "the eight scenic spots", which was an outlook on nature or environment transmitted from China and settled in Japan, had become big opportunity to review living space of Middle Ages.(2) Research for nature and selection of place for city, village and dwelling :We especially investigated many cities from ancient times to modern ages. We research relation between nature and opportunity of city formation. As a result, I have became with feeling that there was a common point to the basis, and the result of the investigation research was brought together from the aspect of the transformation and the relation to nature based on it at the opportunity of the city formation.(3) Research of large disaster and city update :A problem is that the city is to be changed completely why, and the city is not to be done the rebuilding restoration at all after a large disaster. We paid attention a big fire mishap and a large earthquake, which attacked the city, and collected historical materials concerning the historical cities. Kyoto, Fushimi, and Sakai was mainly considered about a so-called large earthquake of 1596, which was a scale looked like the Great Hanshin Earthquake of well in 1995. We have collected and examined historical materials of large damage due to the war damage. Moreover, we investigated Hiroshima where destruction with an atomic bomb had been received. Around the explosive center, which was the flourishing street of the early modern age and modern ages in Hiroshima, the peaceful commemoration park's having been planned as the tradesman town were made nature land. We also saw the reflection of the tradition consideration by which the memory of the city was completely made a blank.
