本研究では,株式市場におけるフードシステム関連産業の株価変動を,時系列分析により解析し,他産業との比較を通じて,その変動特性を数量的に明らかにすることを目的とする.具体的な研究課題は,次の四つのアプローチから構成される.(1)フードシステム関連産業の株価変動に関する記述統計量の検討・・・・・基礎的アプローチ(2)投資家から見たフードシステム関連株に対する収益性の解析・・・・・・ポートフォリオ理論(3)株式市場における価格変動特性の解析・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・市場のミクロ分析(4)食中毒事件など,外生的ショックが株価変動に与える影響の解析・・・・イベントスタディー本年度の研究では,主に(1)を目的とする基礎的アプローチと,(4)を目的とするイベントスタディーを中心とする分析を実施した.特に(4)については,多変量自己回帰条件付分散変動モデル(多変量GARCHモデル)によって,同種の食品企業グループにおいて,外生的ショックが株価の変動性に及ぼす影響の定量化を試みた.その結果,食中毒事件を引き起こした企業の株価変動性(ボラティリティ)は,他の企業と相反する動きを見せ,その程度も非常に大きいことが明らかになった.つまり,当該企業の株価は,食中毒事件の発生によって負の方向に変動する可能性が大きくなり,逆に他の企業の株価は正の方向に動く可能性の大きくなることが明らかとなった.またその影響は一過性のものでなく,事件発生後数ケ月に及ぶことも示唆された.本研究開始と並行して発生したBSEや偽装牛肉事件の影響は,フードシステム関連企業の株価に対して,本研究が念頭に置いていた食中毒事件よりも大きな影響を及ぼしたものと推察できる.現時点では,これらの新たに発生した事件を踏まえて,再度分析結果の精査を実施しているところである.
