项目摘要

本研究は、17世紀ローマにおけるカンタータの歴史的発展を、同地の有力貴族による音楽保護活動に基づいて解明しようとするものである。本年度は当初の調査対象であったバルベリーニ家、キージ家、スウェーデン女王クリスティーナの3宮廷に加え、ボルゲーゼ家、パンフィーリ家、オットボーニ家、コロンナ家、ルスポリ家等の貴族ならびにローマ法王の甥枢機卿たちへと調査を拡大した。その結果、当時のローマでは貴族主催の公式なアカデミーから、貴族の私邸で定期的に行われた非公式のアカデミー、ならびに「談話会conversazione」と称された私的演奏会、さらには芸術家の自宅で開かれた「アカデミー」と呼ばれる同人サークルに至るまで多種多様な会合が活発に展開され、これらがカンタータの発展の場として重要な位置を占めていたことが明らかになった。一方、ローマの貴族に仕えた詩人アバーティとメロージオ、さらに貴族オットボーニの詩集調査から狩、騎馬、トランプ遊び、舟遊び、匿名者の風刺、追悼用作品など、従来論じられて来なかったカンタータの種類が多数明らかになり、このジャンルの未知なる側面を解明する手掛かりが得られた。なお、これらの成果は地中海学会『地中海学研究』XXIX号(2006)に近日発表される予定である。また調査の対象を広げたことにより、17世紀の各時代を代表する11人の芸術パトロンに基づいて、ローマの音楽活動全般の歴史的発展を考察する方法が可能となった。現在は、ローマの音楽家の中で生涯一宮廷に留まった者が少なかった点に着目し、彼らの大半が職場となる宮廷や教会を度々変えつつ、市内各地で開かれた大小様々なアカデミーで他の音楽家と活動していた様子を史料的に裏付けようと試みている。以上の研究成果に基づいて、「17〜18世紀ローマの音楽環境とカンタータ」(仮)という題目で論文を準備中である。
