本研究では、ソ連邦解体後、即ち1990年代以降のロシア文学における日本人表象について、ペレストロイカ期以前より存在し機能し続けてきた従来型の日本人モデルに回収できない、様々なヴァリアント(変種・異型)の出現に着目し変容の様相を考察することにより、その背景の一端を問題化しようと試みた。異文化が現代ロシア社会でどのように認識・解釈され<異質性>が形象化されるのか、その一例として日本人表象を取り上げ、ソ連邦解体以前との差異を明らかにすること-これが本研究の目的であった。本年度は、前年度に確認した従来型の日本人表象を基盤とし、1990年代以降のテクストにおける日本人表象の考察に取り組んだ。前年度調査した、20世紀末〜21世紀初めのV・ペレーヴィンやB・アクーニンのポスト・モダンの文学テクストにおける日本人表象の特徴を整理した。その際、前年度に検討したソ連邦解体以前より存在する従来型の日本人表象との差異に着目した。日本人表象の変化の母胎となった社会的・文化的ダイナミズムを探るべく、従来のオリエンタリズムがどのような形で存在しているのかについても考察した。その結果、ペレストロイカ後の文学テクストにおける日本人表象には、内面化した西欧のオリエンタリズムをソヴィエト・イデオロギーにより強化した<ロシア的オリエンタリズム>の痕跡が認められるものの、イデオロギー色が減退した代わりに、ロシア文化を相対化する装置としての役割が新たに付与されているという面が明らかになった。それは、昨今のロシアが、自己の歴史や文化を相対化しようとする社会的・文化的ダイナミズムに呼応していると考えられる。これについては、すでに論文の形にまとめており、近々雑誌への投稿を予定している。研究当初、射程に入れて構想していたジェンダーの視点の導入、および現代ロシアの文化的コンテクストで<異質性>はどのように形象化されるのかという問題の一般化への試みは、結果的に今後の課題として残されたが、これらは今回の成果を基礎に研究を継続的に発展させていくことにより解明していきたい。
