项目摘要

The major objective of this study is to propose and implement an innovative overseas field survey scheme for disaster reduction. The fiscal year (FY)2005 was the first year to develop a common research framework and organizational scheme. In FY2006, the entire regard has come into a full operation. FY2007 was the final year to complete this study, and we have mainly produced the following results.1. In order to intensively update and collect major outcomes of Field-Campus activities in Japan, we have focused on two areas, one in Chukyo (Nagoya-centered region) and the other in Chuetsu (Central Niigata region). Assessment has been made on how much we have succeeded in formalizing our knowledge acquired as well as in implementing our Case Station-Field Campus (CASiFiCA) scheme.2. We organized a workshop called CASiFiCA-DRH-Implementation Science Workshop in Stresa, Italy on September 16-17, 2007. This was organized in combination with the 7^<th> IIASA-DPRI IDRiM Forum held on September 1 … More 9-21, 2007, immediately after this workshop at the same place. Our findings and outcomes were also presented to an extended international audience on these two occasions. The concept of the CASiFiCA scheme has been shared well and positively accepted by the attendants. It was confirmed that the principal goal of this scheme should be to reorient disaster reduction-oriented field surveys to 1) more proactive, 2) more adaptive to examine "success models (practices)", and 3) longer span of time for investigation. This will help us develop a new methodology for field-based overseas research.3. A web-based information and communication platform (system) called "e-forum NEXUS-IDRiM " has been experimentally developed for researchers and practitioners who participated in our CASiFiCA scheme. For example, e-cross-investigation, internet forums and e-cross-referencing have been carried out in the form of remote seminars to share and discuss the status of both ongoing research activities and issues to be solved further. How to move forward from this experiment after this research project has also been discussed.In summary major outcomes and findings have been overall examined and documented.
