アスパラギンエンドペプチダーゼ(AEP)遺伝子欠損マウスを解析し, 体温上昇, 貧血, 肝脾腫, 骨髄や脾臓における血球貪食細胞の出現など, ヒト血球貪食症候群(HPS)の病態をよく再現したモデルマウスとして位置づけた。血球貪食細胞はマクロファージであり赤血球貪食能は上昇し, 一部でリソソーム病であるゴーシェ病に特徴的なゴーシェ細胞様の特徴も示した。リソソーム酵素であるAEPの欠損により貪食作用の亢進と血球分解産物の異常な蓄積を生じ, HPS様病態形成に深く関わっていることが示唆された。

AEP (AEP) gene deficiency analysis, elevated body temperature, anemia, liver and spleen swelling, bone and spleen disease, the appearance of blood gluttonous cells, blood gluttonous syndrome (HPS) pathological recurrence, the location of the disease. Blood cell gluttony can be increased, and some of the characteristics of the disease are shown. The deficiency of AEP due to gluttony and abnormal accumulation of blood cell decomposition products are closely related to the pathological formation of HPS.
