本研究のテーマは,中国の牧畜地域において,地域住民の自然資源に関する知識や教育の状況が,放牧地の共同管理制度のあり方にどのように関連するのかを検討することである。本年度は,インド北西部のジャンムーカシミール州ラダック地域では7～8月にかけての1ヶ月間の現地調査を実施した。昨年度の広域サーベイに基づき,インダス川支流のドムカル渓谷において詳細な調査をおこなった。2010年2月にはインド北東部に位置するアルナチャルプラデシュ州において,およそ1ヶ月間の広域的な調査をおこなった。2009年6,8月には中国青海省の玉樹県においてのべ1ヶ月半の現地調査をおこなった。今年度,調査をおこなったこれら3つの調査事例と,私がこれまで調査をおこなってきた雲南省迪慶チベット族自治州の事例を,政体や歴史,生業形態,生態環境などの違いを考慮しながら,放牧地の管理形態やそこに反映される資源に関する知識のあり方を比較した。これらの地域間比較を踏まえたうえで,中国国内のチベット地域での放牧地利用を主題とした「Transition of Mountain Pastoralism : Agrodiversity Analysis of Livestock Population and Herding Strategies in Southeast Tibet, ChinalをHuman Ecology誌に投稿・査読中である。また,ラダック地域の知見に基づいて「ラダーク地域における村落の変容-山地における人と環境の結びつきに関する考察-」という論文を執筆し,ヒマラヤ学誌11号に受理・掲載予定である。
