Based on linguistic corpora obtained through fieldwork, linguistic geographic maps of the Yaeyama dialects were generated. From analysis of these data, the following points were clarified : The Yonaguni dialect stands in opposition to the other Yaeyama dialects ; the western Iriomote dialects can be located as a subordinate dialect group of the Yaeyama dialects ; the Ishigaki dialects can be concluded to be one subordinate dialect group of the Yaeyama dialects ; the dialects of Taketomi, Kohama, Aragusuku, Hatoma, Kuroshima, and Hateruma have individual characteristics which do not permit them to be grouped into one dialect group.

以田野调查获得的语言语料库为基础，编制了瑶山方言的语言地理地图。通过对这些数据的分析，澄清了以下几点：与其他耀山方言相反；西部伊里奥莫特方言可以定位为耀山方言的一个从属方言群；石垣方言可以归结为耀山方言的一个从属方言群；竹岛、小滨、阿拉古、初马、黑岛和Hateruma的方言具有各自的特点，不允许将它们归类为一个方言群。
