マラリア原虫メロゾイトは、宿主赤血球侵入時に先端部小器官からタンパク質を分泌する。先端部小器官から分泌されるタンパク質の中で、ロプトリーから分泌される高分子ロプトリータンパク質複合体(RhopH複合体)の赤血球侵入における役割は分かっていない。本研究では、RhopHの赤血球侵入時における機能の解明に向けて、RhopH複合体と相互作用する赤血球タンパク質の検索を行った結果、RhopH複合体と結合するタンパク質を見いだすことに成功した。
