交代勤務特に深夜勤務への適応・不適応(耐性)に伴う健康問題と、適応・不適応に関連する要因を検討した。一製造工場の男性夜勤交代勤務者を対象に全体調査と抽出調査を行った。夜勤交代勤務への適応に最も強く影響したのは年齢であり、慣れによって不適応感が軽減していくものではないことが示された。客観的睡眠モニターから深夜日の睡眠はコマ切れであり、効率の悪い睡眠であることがわかった。不適応者における睡眠以外の健康影響として、疲労蓄積による自然免役能の低下が示唆された。夜勤交代勤務による健康影響の最小化のためには、特に不適応感を抱いている者に対する適切な対応が必要である。
