酵母"CytoTrap法"を用いてHIV粒子形成の責任宿主因子を探索し、2個のGag蛋白に結合する宿主因子(一方は既知の宿主因子AnnexinA2、他方は新規の宿主因子AUP1)を同定した。全長AUP1はHIV粒子産生を促進したが、AUP1 N末端断片は顕著に阻害した。この阻害機序を解析したところ、Gag蛋白分解促進の可能性が推測された。"CytoTrap法"を利用し、酵母でGag-Gag 阻害剤探索系を構築し、化合物ライブラリを探索した。
