ヒト全遺伝子型DNAチップによる網羅的遺伝子発現解析により、食道癌の化学療法の感受性に関わる遺伝子を約20遺伝子見出した。その結果を基に、現在最も汎用されている定量的RT-PCRによる遺伝子発現解析で、未知の食道癌症例に対する検証を行い、約70%程度の正診率で化学療法に対する感受性を予測診断することが可能であり、現在前向きな症例に対する検証を継続しているところである。
