A general study on the unclassified languages spoken in the southern Hunan province of China

本文主要从语言学、建筑学和历史学的角度，通过田野调查，对湖南南部地区的方言和少数民族进行了研究。关于白话文的语族问题，学术界有各种不同的看法。本研究的语言学小组选取了一些方言作为主要研究对象，对方言的整体系统进行了描述。我们现在展示的是白话文形成的历时过程。此外，我们还尝试借助建筑学和历史学的研究方法，对这些方言族群形成的历时过程进行多学科的考察，因为我们认为多学科的视角是有效的。

In this study, we have carried out researches on the vernacular languages spoken in the southern area of Hunan province of China and the ethnic group through fieldwork mainly from the viewpoints of linguistics, and besides, of architecture and history. There are various academic opinions on the language family of the vernaculars. The team of linguistics in this study chose some dialects of the vernaculars as main subjects, and has obtained description on the whole system of them. We are demonstrating the diachronic process of the formation of the vernaculars now. In addition, we tried carrying a multilateral investigation into the diachronic process of the formation of the ethnic group of these vernacular languages with the help of the research on architecture and history, because we think that the multidisciplinary perspective is effective on it.
