The aim of this study was to describe one of the Hakka dialects spoken in southern Formosa. By carrying out this study, (1) the recordings of some stories spoken by two consultants were obtained ; (2) some aspects of the content questions were described ; and (3) a type of coverb was tested to be used especially for people under the age of 60. These findings had never been pointed out in previous studies. The discrimination based on age has been neglected in the study of Hakka, so this study will provides a new approach on Hakka study.
