项目摘要

本研究の目的は、米国初等・中等教育におけるオーラル・ヒストリー実践の全体像を明らかにするとともに、その中から日本の社会科・歴史学習への応用可能性が高いオーラル・ヒストリー・プロジェクトを特定し、それを手がかりにオーラル・ヒストリーを活用した歴史学習のモデルを構築することであった。具体的には、第1に、米国の初等中等教育で展開されたオーラル・ヒストリー・プロジェクトに関する資料を蒐集し、整理すること。第2に、米国の初等中等教育で展開されたオーラル・ヒストリー・プロジェクトの実践を、教育目標・教育内容・教育方法・評価方法の観点から類型化すること。第3に、日本の社会科・歴史学習への応用可能性が高いオーラル・オーラル・ヒストリー・プロジェクトを特定し、その理論や方法論を構造化すること。第4に、特定したプロジェグトを手がかりに、オーラル・ヒストリーを活用した歴史学習のモデルを構築すること。以上の達成を目的としていた。本年度は、第3および第4の課題に取り組むことで、研究を総括し、その成果を社会に還元していく計画のもと、具体的には次の2点を実施した。1、日本の社会科・歴史学習への応用可能性を検討した。すなわち、日本の社会科・歴史学習への応用可能性が高いオーラル・オーラル・ヒストリー・プロジェクトを特定し、歴史学習モデル構築のための理論上及び実践上の問題点を明らかにした。2、1で特定したプロジェクトの理論と方法論を構造化し、それをもとに日本での実践に向けたオーラル・ヒストリーを活用した歴史学習のモデルを構築した。オーラル・ヒストリーをもちいた歴史学習は、プロジェクト型の学習として展開されることが多く、生徒の活動の実態や教師の支援の在り様の部分はブラックボックスとなっていた。この部分を明確化して示したことは、本研究の大きな成果である。以上の研究成果は、著書や関連分野の学会で公表した。

The purpose of this study is to construct a system of social science and history learning in Japan with high possibility of application in elementary and secondary education.
