A study on non-regular employment and income distribution

利用近年来日本的微观数据考察了妇女正规和非正规就业的区域分布情况。我发现已婚妇女的正规全职就业的区域分散性较大，而已婚妇女的非正规就业或单身妇女的区域分散性较小。在北部沿海地区（山形、新潟、富山、石川、福井、鸟取县和岛根县），定期全职工作的参与率最高。我还利用1930年至今的数据探讨了区域分散如何随时间变化。1955年以后，北部沿海地区成为参与率最高的地区。

The regional dispersion in regular and non-regular employment by women is examined using microdata of Japan in recent years. I find that regional dispersion is large in regular full-time employment by married women, and it is small for married women's non-regular employment or single women's employment. The participation in regular full-time employment is highest in the Northern Coastal region (Yamagata, Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, Tottori, and Shimane prefectures). I also explore how the regional dispersion changed over time using the data from 1930 to present. The Northern Coastal region emerged to the highest participation area after 1955.
