インドネシアには、木造及び木造と煉瓦の混構造を用いた歴史建造物が数多く残されているものの、所有者や管理者に文化財としての認識が希薄なまま、そのほとんどが放置されている現状にある。本研究は、こうした危機的状況にあるインドネシアの文化財に対して有効な保存・修復の制度及び技術を確立するため、木造文化財の保存・修復に関して実績のある日本の事例を参考に、インドネシア技術移転を目指して、実施に伴う問題点・障害点の解析と導入への指針を示すことを目的とする。具体的には、日本の木造文化財の修復・保存及び制度、管理の実態等の調査を基に、インドネシアの木造文化財への適用可能性を検証する。本年度の作業内容は下記の通りである。○日本の木造文化財の保存実態把握のため、文化財の歴史的真正性を担保した遺構を調査し、文化財としての価値を如何に維持しているかについて実体調査を行った。また、文化財修理と保守・保全の実態を理解するため、修理の進行している文化財修理現場を訪ね、文化資産の活用について調査した。○日本の文化財保存の制度に関して、各種文献資料の分析を行った。○インドネシアにおいてモスク及び日本の重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に相当する集落の調査を実施した。結果として、文化遺産の取り扱いにおいて、日本の文化財保護法令は、インドネシアの法令の今後を考える上で好例であり、特に両国の建築文化財の多くが木造建築であるという類似性により、日本のシステムの多くをインドネシアに適用できることを見出した。また、インドネシアの現行法令の方向性自体は正しいものの、運用方法に問題があり、政府の援助が極めて少ないことに起因している点を指摘した。また、一連の調査を通じて、Saka Tunggal Mosque in Wangon, BanyumasとNotosukardjo House in Sleman, Yogyakartaの2つの建築文化財について、日本の方式を適用した保存計画を実施する契約を締結した。これらの建築物については、2015年に調査を予定している。
