本年度(受給資格喪失のため前半期のみ)の主な研究成果として、次の2点が挙げられる。1、戦後期に花田清輝が提唱したアヴァンギャルドの方法で特に重視された「偶然性」の概念が、どのように同時代の作家たちに継承・変奏され、具体的な創作に結実していったかを探求し、特に安部公房・勅使河原宏・松本俊夫への経路を明らかにした。また、勅使河原監督の撮影法・編集法を、安部との協働のなかで共有された記録芸術理論との関わりから考究し、映像表現の特質を明らかにした。研究成果は日本近代文学会秋季大会で口頭発表した上で論文化する。2、勅使河原宏と安部公房による最後の協働作となった映画『1日240時間』を、勅使河原・安部の継続的なテーマとの関わり、文学と科学の問題、ミュージカルの課題、国策との共犯による前衛芸術の変容などの視点から考察した。主に財団法人草月会での調査で入手した資料を駆使し、大阪万博で上映されたのち今日まで眠っている本作に光を当て、四面スクリーンという特殊な上映環境で公開されたことの意義や、安部文学におけるテクノロジー表象の問題を論じた。研究成果は日本近代文学会関西支部春季大会で口頭発表したほか、来年度刊行予定の単行本に収録される論文で公開する。また、草月会および元勅使河原プロダクションのスタッフの協力を得て、本フィルムの所在を確認することができた。IMAGICAウェスト社に技術提供を依頼し、フィルム修復と再上映の可能性を探っている。この点については、安部の原籍地である旭川で発行された郷土誌に速報記事を寄せた。以上の2点は、いずれも勅使河原宏監督の映画分析を通して作家論を樹立すること、戦後日本の前衛芸術研究を安部公房ら文学者たちとの協働という視点から再検討すること、日本文学史と日本映画史の縦貫を試みることを目的とする研究であり、文学研究と映画研究の双方において重要な意義を有するものである。
