本研究は、近代日本の農村の「娘」たちが受けた教育について実証的に明らかにし、それが農村女性の社会的ありようにいかなる変化 をもたらしたかを検討する歴史研究である。本年度は研究計画の最終年であり、これまでの成果の総まとめとして博士学位論文の執筆を中心に行った。博士学位論文の概要は以下の3点、すなわち、①農村女子教育史研究という研究領域の不在と問題点についての論証、②教育雑誌の投稿記事の分析による全国の実業補習学校教員の教育実践についての検討、③大阪府の都市近郊農村を中心とした事例研究に要約される。このうち、②と③については前年度までにおもに取り組んだ成果であるため、詳述を省略する。①に関しては、先行研究における議論と問題点について整理し、「農村女子教育史」という領域の確立に向けて、（1）近代日本の複雑な女子教育機関の関係性について明らかにすること、（2）思想分析に傾倒するのではなく実態を明らかにすること、（3）裁縫教育の意義について検討することなどを掲げた論文を『農業および園芸』に発表した。この内容は加筆修正を経ておもに博士学位論文の序章として再構成された。博士学位論文の結論として②と③の内容にもとづき近代日本の農村女子教育の場の関係性を整理したうえで、従来の女子教育史研究においてなされてきた教育界の著名人の言説分析からは可視化されなかった階層性による教育要求の差異を論証し、特にたしなみとしての知的教養を得ることに専念できるような富裕層ではないが、女工などとして就労しなくてもよい者たちが、裁縫教育要求と高等女学校卒という学歴取得の両方を求めていたことを明らかにした。加えて、③の事例研究で扱った学校の生徒作文を題材として、「女学生文化」研究の枠組みの問い直し、〈女学生〉概念の再考を行う論文を執筆し、この成果は田中祐介編『日記文化から近代日本を問う』（笠間書院）に所収された。

This study is a historical study on the development of rural women's society in modern Japan. This year is the final year of the research plan. The outline of the doctoral dissertation consists of the following three points: (1) research on the history of rural women's education,(2) discussion on the problems in the research field,(3) analysis on the contribution records of educational journals,(4) discussion on the educational practice of teachers in practical remedial schools across the country, and (4) case study on the urban and rural centers of Osaka Prefecture. The results of the previous year were omitted. (1) The relationship between women's education institutions in modern Japan and the recovery of women's education institutions in modern Japan;(2) The analysis of ideas;(3) The significance of tailoring education is discussed in this paper. The content of this paper is revised and the preface of the doctoral thesis is composed.
