BENCHTOP NMR TO SUPPORT DRUG DISCOVERY ACTIVITIES IN EDINBURGH

This proposal seeks to support drug discovery and chemical biology projects run by the Innovative Therapeutics Lab in Edinburgh, in collaboration with researchers across the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and other external institutions from Scotland, UK and overseas. NMR is an essential analytical technique for compound ID and characterisation. The Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) is located near the Edinburgh's Western General Hospital, almost five miles away from the closest NMR facility. Acquiring a benchtop NMR instrument that is easy to use, requires no/minimal maintenance and has a small footprint, would be an optimal solution to provide the Innovative Therapeutics lab with access to an essential tool for speeding up the drug discovery ambitions of the University of Edinburgh.
