This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the
resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and
investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source,
and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is
for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator.
Department of Biomedical Engineering and member of the HiT Center. The HiT Center was expressly designed to support and facilitate large, interdisciplinary and technology development projects such as that proposed for this TCNP. The HiT Center consists of several faculty research groups side by side with highly advanced core facilities; thus considerable infrastructure to support the proposed project already exists. We propose to add to this infrastructure a computational biology core designed to meet the specific computational needs of the investigators in the TCNP.
In the computational biology support core, Dr. Bader, together with his colleague in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Andre Levchenko, will provide computational support services for all members of this TCNP. Both of these individuals are experts in the computational biology of protein interaction networks and pathways. Dr. Levchenko has special expertise in dynamic networks and modeling quantitative changes in metabolic and signaling pathways
