项目摘要
A/Administrative Structure and Function
Administrative Core personnel will oversee activities to achieve Center aims 1 and 4 and support the scientific
cores (Mixed Methods Research and Nursing and Healthcare Informatics) in achieving aims 2 and 3.
Specifically, the Administrative Core aims are to:
1. Facilitate the development of successful investigator-initiated programs of research through individual
and group mentoring, critiquing, and editorial services for proposal and manuscript development.
We will achieve this aim by disseminating information about funding mechanisms related to end-oflife
and palliative care, using email and Website and conducting forums (e.g., roundtables, mock
reviews, think tanks, writing groups, mentors, conferences, continuing education) for motivating and
inspiring investigator exchanges and consultations related to growing and disseminating the
science of end of life.
2. Link novice investigators with available resources (people, technology, programs) within UIC and the
UIC College of Nursing that will facilitate their successful development as independent researchers.
We will achieve this aim by expanding the multiethnic resource base within the CRRVP-developed
library of instruments and linking the information from advisory boards or groups in the form of
written recruitment and retention guides for studies with people facing the end-of-life transition.
