Introduction. Developmental funds from the CCSG have been used to promote programmatic research in areas defined as high priority for the Institute. Promotion of high priority Institute and CCSG research has been accomplished by recruitment of important leaders, senior scientists, and promising young investigators, support of important new core resource facilities and partial support of important pilot projects conducted at Roswell Park. As a free standing cancer center, we also have the ability to direct philanthropic dollars raised by our active Roswell Park Alliance Foundation to provide additional funds for important Institute initiatives. Expenditure of CCSG developmental funds is reviewed with Senior Leaders and the CCSG Steering Committee. Dr Trump, Institute Director, has responsibility for final assignment of CCSG and Institute funds.
