During the past grant period Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) has undergone continued growth in scientific, clinical trials and cancer education programs. This growth has been guided by internal and external advisory groups and led by the CCSG senior leadership. The primary forums in which planning and evaluation are carried out include the Executive Council, CCSG Program Steering Committee, Program External Advisory Boards and Institute CCSG External Advisory Board meetings. Disease-specific research group meetings occur monthly and bring together preclinical and clinical investigators committed to the study of specific diseases. In addition yearly CCSG retreats are held to bring together CCSG members to discuss and develop the CCSG Programs and explore needs for new scientific core resources, latest was held in November 2006. The succession of Dr. Donald Trump to the position of CCSG PI and President/CEO was the result of careful planning and evaluation by Dr. Hohn, Dr. Trump's predecessor, the RPCI Board of Directors (BOD) and external advisors to the RPCI BOD. With this transition, Dr. Trump and the CCSG senior leadership are poised to develop a robust longterm strategic plan for the CCSG and the Institute as a whole - based on and growing from the CCSG/lnstitute strategic plan developed in 2004 by senior leadership. Funds requested in this application will be used to affect some of the costs of the annual CCSG EAB meetings and RPCI member retreats, while other planning and evaluation activities will be supported by Institute resources.
