In FY20, the Integrated Research Facility in the Division of Clinical Research has continued to support a large number of academic, industrial and NIH intramural research program collaborators through established core capabilities including clinical imaging, pathology, molecular virology, outbreak response in West Africa, evaluation of potential Ebola virus, Nipah virus, and Lassa virus countermeasures. The IRF also established COVID-19 nonhuman primate and hamster animal models to support countermeasure efficacy testing and pathogenesis experiments. The IRFs imaging capability has provided an unique, quantitative readout for COVID-19 progression in these models.
