A metabolic treadmill for running mice is being requested by the applicant. The metabolic treadmill will allow the measurement of oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production by mice in order to determine the intensity of the physical exercise being performed. This is a standard piece of equipment for exercise training studies in small rodents and will be used as part of physiologic research on immune mechanisms in physical activity and cancer.
