Role of IRAP in Alzheimer's disease

阿尔茨海默病是一种进行性脑部疾病，会导致记忆丧失和脑细胞死亡。目前所有的处方药都能治疗记忆丧失，但无法阻止脑细胞的退化。我们之前已经开发了一类逆转记忆丧失靶向的药物——这些药物靶向一种叫做IRAP的蛋白质。我们最近发现这些药物还能减少疾病的病理变化。本研究计划旨在探讨IRAP在阿尔茨海默病病理发生或进展中的作用。

Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive brain disease which is results in memory loss and brain cell death. All currently prescribed drugs treat the memory loss but are unable to stop the deterioration of brain cells. We have previously developed a class of drugs that reverse memory loss targeting – these drugs target a protein called IRAP. We recently found that these drugs also reduce the disease pathology. This research proposal aims to investigate the role of IRAP in the initiation or progression of Alzheimer’s disease pathology.
