英文摘要
The Oxymax Economy System (7670x-D52) from Columbus Instruments is an open-circuit indirect calorimeter that will allow measurements of energy expenditure in rodents. My interests lie in the endocrine regulation of energy balance. Measurements of food consumption give information regarding an animals energy intake, measurements of activity and oxygen consumption provide information about an animals energy expenditure. In order to conduct thorough metabolic analyses in transgenic animal models of disrupted energy balance I require a system such as this to produce accurate, reliable measurements of energy expenditure. The Oxymax Economy System is the base model that can be upgraded to a multi-chamber system in the future should my needs/research program expand to require increased measuring capabilitites. I have had three years experience using metabolic monitoring equipment from Columbus instruments including this Oxymax system.
