The project is aimed at creating an advanced information technology system to produce a state of the art cloud based system unrivaled in its use of technology for measuring, collecting, processing, storing, analysing and presenting information pertaining to athletic performance. In addition to benefiting elite Canadian athletes, the proposed project further aims at promoting physical health for the wider Canadian society. The technologies that will be developed will be used to provide non-professionals with optimized training plans that match their fitness goals. Some of the technologies that will be developed will directly benefit Canadian children aiming to improve their physical fitness. Peak Centre Kanata Inc. already has existing programs geared towards children and the proposed project will enable the organization to provide more specialized services that tenders to their needs. The developed system can be applied to other fitness centres around the country in order to grant them a global competitive advantage in this area. Therefore, the realization of the proposed system will potentially reap great economic gains for Canadian fitness and health service providers such as our industry partner.
