Ronald A. Chisholm Ltd. has approached SAIT for technical assistance to conduct verification testing of a bioremediation product owned by the US-based Drylet, LLC. The product, called DryLet MB Bioremediation, is a highly concentrated, naturally occurring, non-genetically modified microorganism powder that contains live indigenous microorganisms able to consume hazardous elements of oil, gas, diesel, and petroleum by-products within days. While R. A. Chisholm has the distribution rights to sell it in Canada, DryLet MB Bioremediation must be proven to be suitable for and working effectively in Canadian soils before its applications in the country. The product has to meet "Alberta Tier 1" set by the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER), one of the most stringent criteria in Canada for oil contamination remediation. In the proposed project, SAIT will carry out testing to evaluate the efficacy of DryLet MB Bioremediation in degrading crude oil contamination in Canadian soils. The project results will be used by R. A. Chisholm to acquire an approval for the proprietary product from the AER. It will be an important step for the company towards its goal to market and sell the product in Canada. DryLet MB Bioremediation is an effective, fast and non-toxic treatment product for crude oil contamination, and will minimize the impacts to the environment and help reduce the associated operating costs in oil remediation in Canada.
罗纳德A.
