项目摘要
The purpose of this project is to develop intelligent control and estimation techniques for solar thermal**windows and garage doors that optimize energy efficiency while ensuring safe and reliable operation. The**intelligent techniques will be based on probability-based strategies (e.g., Bayes theory) and variable structure**control theory. The proposed research offers improvements to control and estimation accuracy, robustness to**external disturbances, reliability, and safety. The developed techniques will help sustainable or 'green'**industries that deal with control techniques and mechatronics systems. Furthermore, the technology will be**transferable to clean energy industries to ensure more reliability, efficiency, and cost-efficient solutions to help**them remain competitive in the market. In addition, the proposed project will provide training for a graduate**student and team of undergraduates on advanced mechatronics systems in modeling, sensing, and control.**These highly qualified personnel (HQP) will contribute to the workforce of Canadian automation and**manufacturing industries.
