Gaining the industrial edge: Introducing and developing in-house user-experience research**

We now live in a world where people can communicate, in real-time, both directly and remotely (e.g., Skype); and where new technologies (e.g., virtual reality, robots, driverless cars; smart phones) are blurring the traditional lines of human-human and human-computer interactions. In short, the digital world of industry is experiencing a revolution. TELUS Corporation competes in this international telecommunications market. This project aims to reduce the time it takes TELUS to develop and introduce its products to market by eliminating the need to outsource its user-experience (UX) research. UBC's Brain, Attention, and Reality Lab, will provide UX research and training to TELUS during product development. The objective of the present project is to establish UX research at TELUS, and plan a long-term collaborative partnership with TELUS whereby UBC talent works in, and ultimately provides the primary source of UX research talent to, TELUS throughout Canada.**
