Located in Victoria, British Columbia, Camosun College's two main campuses, Lansdowne and Interurban, together with our five satellite partnership centres, serve over 19,000 learners in the certificate, diploma, bachelor degree, post-degree and continuing education programs every year, including 1,100 Indigenous students and close to 2,000 International students from 80 countries. Our impact as a college extends beyond Camosun's highly-skilled, job-ready graduates; we prepare well-trained co-op students for employers, provide contract-training opportunities for local business, and offer innovative applied research and prototyping services for local industry. With over 1,000 employees and an annual budget of $126 million, Camosun generates over $1 billion worth of economic impact in our province every year. This is a first research partnership between StressMarq Biosciences Ltd. and Camosun Innovates which will produce exciting new developments in the biotechnology domain. StressMarq Biosciences Ltd. is a Canadian life science company, based in Victoria BC which supplies the worldwide research community with high-quality reagents. Camosun Innovates will work with StressMarq Biosciences Ltd., to provide the tools and expertise to carry out detailed structural, activity, and population analysis in the generation of oligomeric alpha-synuclein (ASYN) proteins. These unique reagents are utilized around the world by medical researchers examining Neurodegenerative diseases.
