Providing leading edge technology since 1982, Interpump is a dynamic and diverse Canadian company offering solutions for various pump applications, water treatment systems, rainwater harvesting packaged systems, and custom engineered pump packaged solutions to its clients across Canada. Currently, rapidly evolving regulations inspired by growing environmental sustainability concerns are changing Interpump's customers' needs. The need for water management strategies and new technologies is driving the demand for rainwater harvesting and water reuse systems. In response, Interpump is focusing its efforts to become thought leaders in the rainwater and water reuse market through research and development, and design innovation. In collaboration with Lambton College's Lambton Water Centre (LWC) to analyze water quality in cisterns, assess current non-potable water usage rates and evaluate the efficacy of treatment systems for its various uses across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). This project will allow Interpump to better understand the raw water quality of cisterns, quantify rainwater usage rates in various applications, identify design needs, and utilize data collected during investigation in various educational mediums including white papers, case studies, website content, and design guidelines. By understanding the water usage of non-potable water systems and the quality of raw water in cisterns across the GTA, it will help Interpump optimize product designs, establish best practices for design, use and operation of rainwater harvesting systems, and help lead communities towards a more sustainable water management path.
