Lab-on-a-chip devices integrate chemical and biological assays onto integrated chips. They have already seen use in point-of-care health devices. We aim to use them to develop agricultural and industrial sensors for networked sensor arrays. With this technology farmers could get real time information on the health of their soil and plants. Industrial facilities could monitor their wastewater to ensure regulatory compliance. Food and drink manufacturers could control process parameters and detect contamination.
