Supporting perioperative care through evidence-based clinical nutrition is the key value proposition for Enhanced Medical Nutrition Inc. (EMN), a life sciences-based company in Toronto, Ontario. EMN is a successful spin out of McMaster University and creates clinical nutrition products that are based on scientific research. Canada's Smartest Kitchen, a NSERC Technology Access Center at Holland College, actively seeks collaborations with food product companies, such as EMN, and sees tremendous opportunity to advance new knowledge, develop innovative new products, and train students. The purpose of this collaboration between CSK and EMN is to re-formulate EMN's existing flagship product "ISOlution" to reduce sugar content and replace dairy-based flavouring, thickening and emulsifying compounds while maintaining shelf stability, flavour, mouthfeel, and other organoleptic properties. This collaboration will result in nutritionally superior products, designed to support an individual's health, and decrease recovery times while meeting specific nutritional benchmarks to ensure high quality and efficacy.
