A Canadian company based in Milton Ontario, Enertics Inc. provides technology solutions for early healthmonitoring, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance of electrical assets such as motors, transformers, andswitchgear. The key goal of the company's solution is to prevent catastrophic failures, reduce un-plannedprocess downtime, and associated unexpected maintenance costs and risks. However, as Enertics focuses on the Asset Performance Management (APM) of electrical equipment, theyrecognize the need to develop a mobile device based on seamless interface to configure and monitor theEnertics asset health monitoring, diagnostics, and predictive analytics platform. Currently, Enertics does all theconfiguration from the web-based dashboard which creates a challenge for field upgrades and accessibility. Thecurrent mechanism to visualize and configure takes more time and is cumbersome for quick verification checksand customer config updates. Thus, the proposed collaborative project with Lambton College and Enterics Inc.will focus on developing a complete mobile-based IoT system for Asset Performance monitoring andmanagement to allow the user to manage, monitor, and control the systems remotely. The success of the proposed project will provide customers with a more user-friendly platform, ultimatelyleading to the acquisition of new customers and the fulfillment of existing customers' requests to providespecial functionalities. In addition, industrial facilities will be able to make better-informed decisions andeliminate unneeded maintenance costs by implementing an asset management framework. Furthermore, thecompany predicts $3-4M in revenue generation over the next five years and the creation of 8 new full-timepositions from this product development.
