Aim of the applied research project is the investigation of particle behavior on elastic and damping vibrating surfaces. For this purpose the earlier described Vibration Method will be used to determine adhesion force distributions on elastic substrates as plastic foils, sponges, fleece filters and membranes at varying atmospheric conditions. Using these deformable substrates, the elasticity and damping cause secondary vibrations which result in detachment forces fluctuating over the time.Because of this the clear correlation between detachment force and detachment event can get lost. To solve this problem, a piezo driven pulse generator will be used. Because of the high reproducibility concerning rise and rise time, the resulting acceleration can be controlled very well. A pulse is a singular event so the correlation between detachment force and detachment event remains clear.The dynamic answer of the investigated materials caused on a vibration or pulse agitation depends from the elastic and damping properties of the material. In the case of membranes fleece filter etc. an additional system damping because of the substrate structure has to be considered which values cannot be found in an easy way. So it will be investigated, how successful the damping can be determined, using the microscope laser vibrometer which is part of the experimental set-up for the Vibration Method.
