When we measure taste and odor substances, we must decide not only the chemical composition but the factor relating human sensitivity. Because taste and odor are determined by the comprehensive results after many chemical substances were received. The basic part of this result is the sensitivity information. Therefore, it is difficult to reproduce taste and odor using instrumental analysis method for chemical substances, and from a engineering standpoint, it is not easy. So it is necessary to model on biotic reception mechanism and extract its basic parts as a mechanism to change the information which chemical sustances have.In the present research, we focused on the polar information derived from chemical substances as such a basic mechanism. Thus, the polarity of electrode was controlled and a transducer was developed for sensors which reflects greatly the portion about the polarity of chemical substances used as a measurement object. Moreover, we focused on adsorption to the interfa … More ce of chemical substances. It reflects taste and odor which are brought about by chemical substances are greatly influenced by the polarity and the adsorption to the surface. By changing the state of an interface positively and controlling it, such a transducer for sensors makes the information on an interface multiplex, and can extract required chemical substance information. In the present study, the interface potential of platinum electrode was controlled, and the state of the substance on an interface was measured through the electrochemical surface impedance change. As a result, various chemical substances could be detected with high sensitivity. And it turns out that the order of sensitivity corresponds to the chemosensory order of human, that the potential profile pattern of the impedance obtained by measurement has the information about the quality of chemical substances on the human chemical senses, and that an electrode surface treatment can also be used as a means to multiplex interface information. These results can be used as a transducer of the kansei sensign system of chemical substances in the future. Less
